Out of all the billions of people in the world, to me, you are special, important and desirable. I want to create an experience that is just for you, and give you a memento of this experience that is unique and one of a kind, so you can bring it home with you and remember how much you are cared about and appreciated.

The other girls are meeting as many people as they can. It’s a numbers game for them. You are just an indecipherable drop in the sea. Every experience is the same, so it’s easy to repeat, and the only thing they send home with their many meetups is a receipt.

When Harajuku sneakerheads camp overnight for a drop or Swifties trade friendship-bracelet lore in the stadium rafters, they’re not “engaging”, they’re consecrating.

Hey, please don’t share, but I dm’d you the address for an after party tonight. We’ll be there around midnight, so just come by. It’s like a few dozen of us, so feel free to bring a friend. And, we have plenty of snacks etcetera, so no need to bring anything unless you think we might be missing it. Hope you can make it.

If there’s no line out the club, do you want to go in? If the warehouse store is pumping out generic brand tshirts, are you going to wear yours on the first day of school?

Let’s just call engagement metrics what they are, useless vanity. Social graphs give much more meaningful information. Who’s interacting with whom? Who’s way out, dangling off the edge of the community? Who’s the glue that’s keeping the community together?

Autumn 2023, Chones tested whether two groups, with similar interests but separate conversation channels, could influence each other’s engagement metrics. The social graph clearly showed that they did not. People tend stay in their own channels and rarely cross over.

Ecosystem weaving focuses on curating resource sharing, like relationships, information and capital. It strengthens network effects. It won’t have meaningless robot clicks; it builds a more robust social graph.
