Chones Party with Jordanisgreen

On September 25, 2025, I had the privilege of sharing a conversation with Jordanisgreen during Chones Party!

Jordan is founder of Times New, and who we can thank for our amazing Chones brand design! You can follow her on X.

She shared about flow, taste and boxing.

Here are some highlights!

01:21 Why we hang out & flow

02:26 Journey to designer

It ended up taking more and more of my time, because I loved it.

I don’t always know everything; I don’t always feel like I’m the most technically sophisticated person. I know I have really good taste and really good discernment.

I think I’ve always intuitively trusted myself to know when something is important and when to really tune in.

06:49 Discernment & Taste

Think of the rules as like invitations for other people to play along, join you and to co-create with you.

You have to tell an interesting story and you have to leave room for other people to come and remix it and put their own spin on it.

12:15 How to translate owner goals to visual creativity

Everything connects to each other and it’s hard to tell what’s inside and what’s outside.

17:05 Reclaiming Creative Sovereignty

I had some say on who I worked with and what I worked on, and I liked it.

How can I do my best work, with people that I’m friends with, and align highly with, in a way that benefits both of us?

25:33 Groupon → Competitive Boxer

I have no idea where I’m going, or where this will take me, and I’m excited to find out.

There’s so much overlap between boxing and startup culture.

Boxing is fundamentally a study in how you manage fear, and how you manage your resources in a super small amount of time and with a huge amount of pressure.

28:22 Flow & Boxing

You don’t have the mental bandwidth to be paying attention to everything.

You trust your hands will do the thing you’ve practiced 100 times.

I know what a creative flow state looks like, and I know what I need to do to get myself there.

32:21 Mind body relationships & artificial minds

You cannot be using your brain so heavily without also having a super strong physical need that you have to express.

AI assumes the pinnacle of human intelligence is the brain in a jar model.

Book recommendation: Childhood’s End

The essence of our humanity is being slow, being very engaged in our senses and being unafraid to make mistakes and get our hands dirty.
